Drawings-Paintings, 1981-1990

After studying Industrial Chemistry in high school for four years I decided to apply to the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy to study Fine Arts. I graduated from the Academy in 1987 and was offered a Fulbright scholarship to study Fine Arts at Suny Albany where I also started shooting photography. The work in this page are the drawings and paintings I created in those years. I still draw and sketch out all my ideas and consider drawing a tool for thought that coupled with writing provides invaluable thought processing tools to work through ideas. The drawings are pencil, chalk coal, sanguine and pen on letter size to 50x70cm. (20x28”) paper. The paintings are oil or acrylic on canvas or board. I used to draw on a range of papers from newsprint, Fabriano and other types of paper. All works are from the 1980s if otherwise noted in the label.
